The Veterans Memorial Wall

“The Wall that whispers a story of honor...”

The construction of a beautiful memorial wall is complete at the Cresson American Legion as a tribute to all of our living & deceased veterans who have served honorably in the United States Armed Forces.

While all veterans will collectively be honored, custom, laser-engraved black granite plaques are available.

The proceeds will be used exclusively to cover all costs, including: materials, production, shipping, placement and perpetual care of your personalized memorial.

Makes a great gift!

Arranging for a beautiful granite memorial for your loved one is easy!

  1. Anyone (living or deceased) who has ever honorably served in any component of the United States Armed Forces is eligible (Active Duty, National Guard and Reserves). Membership in the American Legion is not necessary. The person being honored does not have to live in the Cresson area.

  2. -If you would like to have a picture on the granite plaque it can be old or new, black and white, or color.

  3. See if you can find proof of military service such as the DD-214, or a discharge paper, etc... The DD-214 will also usually contain information regarding rank, assignments and awards.  NOTE: Most DD-214s are available, free of charge, from the Recorder of Deeds office in the Cambria County Courthouse.  The phone number is 814-472-1473.

  4. -Check our our samples gallery to view the completed memorial plaques so that you can get ideas for your special memorial

  5. Call or email one of the helpful volunteers listed to the right with any questions you may have.  They have a lot of experience, and will be happy to assist you with the creation of the unique granite memorial for your loved one!
